The Netherlands –(terraus.com)–
Contrary to what would many have believed when reading the news header the full-scale replica of the legendary Ark of the Deluge was created, and we cite the owner “to educate the people…” It has now opened its doors to the public in the Netherlands.
Stormy weather Monday failed to do anything to dampen the good mood of its creator, Dutchman Johan Huibers. In fact, the rain was appropriate.
In the Biblical account of the Ark, God orders Noah to build a boat big enough to save animals and Noah’s family while the Earth soon to be covered by rains that will last for 40 days and 40 nights.
Johan interpreted the description given in the book of Genesis by the Lord to Moses to build the Ark from which he built his own ark replica. It measures in at a whopping 130 meters (427 feet) long, 29 meters (95 feet) across and 23 meters (75 feet) high.
Huibers says he realized a 20-year dream to educate people about history and faith. The ark has received permission to receive up to 3,000 visitors a day.
