The first time I heard about the book Ecodefense, was more than half a life time ago. It was in hayday of what was termed “ecotage” by some, sabotage of huge industrial polluters and the like for the sake of saving the environment…
Throughout the 90s there were a litany of such direct actions but the victories of those who took part were always relatively small in comparison to the expectations for a “Green Revolution” of sorts. Before long, the Earth Liberation Front formed, following the model of the decentralized Animal Liberation Front, which was mostly involved with freeing laboratory and fur farm animals back in the day.
