The BBC News had a segment this morning about preparation for a public “first contact.” The topic was, specifically, about the news of the United Nations appointing an Earth Ambassador to extraterrestrials.

As I mentioned the other day HERE and HERE, what the hell is going on when this topic was ignored (except for when it was ridiculed) just decade ago; and now, suddenly, it’s being discussed with a great deal of curiosity and seriousness?
