Opposition activists in Russia were planning a campaign of civil disobedience today as damning videos of apparent rigging in Sunday's presidential poll emerged online. Putin claimed victory with nearly 64 percent of the vote amid claims of voting irregularities. Suspicions were also aroused after the former KGB spy Putin, 59, bagged an incredible 99.8 percent of the vote in the conflict-torn region of Chechnya – headed by a Kremlin crony. A web-camera caught several men in the southern province of Dagestan standing around an electronic ballot box, feeding dozens of voting slips into it. Claims of so-called “carousel voting” were also being received by independent monitoring group Golos. Spokeswoman Lilia Shibanova said it had registered at least 3,000 reports of violations.
