Tens of thousands assemble to commemorate “Red Shirt” crackdown in Thailand

­In Bangkok tens of thousands gathered and 100 Buddhist monks led prayers for those who lost their lives to government brutality. Two years ago, troops crushed a nine-week anti-government protest, killing 90 people and injuring 2000. It was the country’s worst political violence in decades. However no charges or prosecutions have been made in response to the deadly acts.
