BioMuseo in Panama is Award-Winning Architect’s First in Latin America

World-renowned architect Frank Gehry has designed his first museum in Latin America, and the structure itself is worthy of being in the museum as well.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada California, Gehry is a Pritzker Prize-winning architect based out of Los Angeles, California. A number of his works are now tourist attractions and the BioMuseo in Panama is bound to be another.

The BioMuseo houses Panama’s new Bridge of Life museum, which highlights the Panama isthmus and its unique role on the planet as a biological corridor. Panama is not only one of the most biologically diverse places in the world, but it is also home to some of the world’s most studied ecosystems. As the museum helps increase tourism to Panama, visitors will be able to visit the bio-museum and truly being to understand how important these ecosystems are.

Some of Gehry’s most notable works include Spain’s titanium-covered Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park in Chicago, the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, MIT’s Stata Center, the whimsical Dancing House in Prague, the Experience Music Project in Seattle, and is also the concept designer for the proposed Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial. The Eisenhower Memorial will be the first for a 21 century president and only the seventh in U.S. history.
