go topless day

New York- Protesters on Sunday came together for “Go-Topless Day” in major cities across the US and world. The demonstrations were organized to call attention to the inequality of topless rights between men and women.

According to Reuters (via Yahoo! News), around 30 different cities across the US were planning on holding demonstrations. About 10 other international cities were also expected to participate.

A group of protesters stood topless in New York City to protest what they feel are unfair laws against women going topless in public. The Gothamist reports that about 20 women were present with many more men who stood by to observe the event and take photos. Some of the men were said to be rather disrespectful, but no major incidents were reported from the event.
