A 17-year-old boy arrested in connection with a burglary died Wednesday after he apparently freed himself from handcuffs in a patrol car and hanged himself with a seat belt, police said.
Anderson Police spokesman Joel Sandefur said officers arrested the teen, another juvenile and a man after being called to investigate a 12:17 am. Wednesday burglar alarm at the Madison County Shrine Club in Anderson, about 25 miles northeast of Indianapolis.
Sandefur said the 17-year-old’s hands were cuffed behind his back and that the teen was placed alone in the back seat of the patrol car as officers were processing the other juvenile and the man. READ MORE HERE
