(Before It's News)

Attempts to play us for fools

John McCain is riled.  He appears on the reliably hospitable FOX News network talking about the devastating cuts to the U.S. Military that will place Americans in peril and cost millions of jobs. McCain is so concerned about the impact of the automatic defense cuts due to kick in this coming January that he has even taken to the town halls he disdains, to share his angst. In all approximately $550 billion will be cut from the U.S. defense budget.

But there is a small problem that the faltering McCain neglects to mention as he vents on this crucial issue: He voted for it!

So, for that matter, did Jon Kyl, who was a member of the bi-partisan “Super Committee” assembled to address the debt ceiling, and disappointingly failed to come to a resolution. Nineteen Senate Republicans did not support this calamitous legislation. Only 6 Democrats stood tall and voted against S 365, on August 2, 2011. McCain and Kyl voted with the majority of Democrats — again. With their help, the motion was agreed to by a margin of 14 votes.

At the time of passage, the bill to raise the federal debt ceiling was quickly signed by a gratified Barack Obama.

Watch as McCain is interviewed here (at 4:51) finally admitting “it was a bad idea and a bad vote on my part.”

 Yup.
