Elton Wine, a 71 year old man, had his home broken into on September 14th when law enforcers got word that the his friend, John Bowman, was growing marijuana, and may have been in Wine’s home. According to the article the law enforcers “said their special response team was utilized to execute the search warrant” because Wine and Bowman had been violent in the past. The article does not specify if the previous violence was self-defense against law enforcers, or actual aggression. “Special response team” is probably a euphamism for men in body armor bearing automatic weapons.
While the man tried to prevent the strangers in his house from finding his friend, he became short of breath and died shortly thereafter. Ironically, after breaking into his home, and possibly prompting what appears to be a heart attack, the law enforcers “provided assistance, first aid and summoned EMS, which was stationed nearby.” Since the article states that the law enforcers “encountered” Wine and were searching for Bowman, it can be deduced that they entered Wine’s home without permission.
The fact is, aggression caused this death – and from what I see, the elderly man was not aggressive in any way until men broke into his home.
