McCain: Murderous acts by “small group of violent extremists”
Hundreds of violent Islamic fanatics merely a “small group” to McCain
After mobs of radical protestors stormed Mideast U.S. embassies and in Libya murdered Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans on diplomatic duty, John McCain said Tuesday’s murderous attack at the U.S. consulate “was the work of a small group of violent extremists, whose goals and actions could not be more at odds with those of the people and government of Libya.” He also referred to the violent mob as a “small group of fanatics.”
The barbarous attack, originally blamed on a YouTube video depicting Islam’s prophet unfavorably, is now being exposed as coordinated to coincide with the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on American soil. McCain might find a similarity since those horrific attacks resulting in the horrific deaths of nearly 3,000 innocent victims, were also perpetrated by a “small group” — 19 — violent Muslim extremists.
After the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, the Obama administration issued a bizarre apology, including this gem: “The Embassy of the United States condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.”
Let those shameful words sink in: The U.S. “condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.”
Today in the latest of a series of consulate attacks in the Mideast, hundreds of protesters chanting “death to America” and “death to Israel,” stormed the U.S. Embassy compound in Yemen, burning the American flag.
Delivering his remarks on the U.S. Senate floor, McCain chastised, “I know many Americans may feel a temptation, especially with so many domestic and economic challenges facing us here at home, to distance ourselves from people and events in Libya, and Egypt, and elsewhere in the Middle East. We cannot afford to go down that path,” he said.
