(Before It's News)

(DAILY MAIL)   A former New York cop, fired after issuing false summonses to dead people, is suing the department over claims he was inappropriately dismissed.

Paul Pizzuto says he was never allowed a hearing prior to his dismissal, after being busted for doling out the bogus tickets, something he claims to have done to meet illegal ticket quotas.

He insists he was given orders to produce more than the 125-150 he was already writing, being threatened with the sack if he failed to comply.

‘Specifically, [Pizzuto] was told that he needed to start issuing more summonses for red-light and seat-belt violations’ according to court papers seen by the New York Post.

He said he had ‘always issued summonses to motorists who deserved the summonses’ and objected to issuing summonses purely to meet a quota.

So the 17-year veteran devised a scam to get around the direction, writing out fake summonses, some of which were to motorists long dead.

Pizzuto ‘prepared summonses by taking information from legitimate summonses that he had issued in the past.

‘But he prepared the summonses in such a way that [they] would not impact any motorists,’ the filing says.

His supposed ‘do-gooder’ scheme was eventually sussed out by fellow employees who noticed he never had to testify about the tickets.

‘It was the dumbest scam in the world,’ one cop told the New York Daily News.
