INTRO
Due to my previous experiences with CopBlock and those who exercise their rights to keep law enforcement in check, I have always wanted to start a CopBlock offshoot in the state of West Virginia.
PART 1
I am originally from the Washington DC area and had encounters with law enforcement on a daily basis. On June 5th, 2012 I went to an eviction at 917 Maryland ave in North East DC. The United States Marshal Service showed up and started assaulting protesters against the eviction. I was the only streamer on scene until after all of the violence occurred . Many protesters had back injuries but one protester was unconscious from a strangle hold. When the Marshals moved the individual he was dropped on the concrete curb and fractured his eye socket. Once dropped, the Marshals left and returned back to the property. I tried getting information of the officers involved but the Marshals would not respond to me. I also tried to find the commanding officer on scene but no officer would respond. At some point after the individual that was unconscious was taken to seek medical treatment by EMS, an assault rifle and UMP were brought out. When a fellow streamer finally arrived he said that he would take care of getting my footage into the proper hands. Right after that my local NBC station asked to use my footage and i gave them rights to use it. that night i watched NBC and saw my footage at the 5 and 6 o’clock news. currently there is a law suit against the Marshals for excessive force.

PART 2:
Ever since I moved to Huntington, West Virginia I have seen MANY police around. I have talked to people on my college campus about the police activities around us, and have concluded the campus police are doing their job, but the county sheriffs and Huntington Police Department sometimes use excessive force and needs to be held accountable. While thinking about the Oakland occupation, I decided to start the CopBlock in Huntington, West Virgnina. I am going to get a group of people together to hold Huntington and surrounding areas accountable.
