(Before It's News)

“We believe that using nuclear weapons is haraam and prohibited and that it is everybody’s duty to make efforts to protect humanity against this great disaster.” – Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, from a speech given on April 13, 2011.

An excerpt from, “U.S. Officials Say Iran Has Agreed to Nuclear Talks,” by The New York Times:

It has the potential to help Mr. Obama make the case that he is nearing a diplomatic breakthrough in the decade-long effort by the world’s major powers to curb Tehran’s nuclear ambitions, but it could pose a risk if Iran is seen as using the prospect of the direct talks to buy time.

Correction: Iran does not have nuclear ambitions.

Iran’s nuclear program is not military in nature, as U.S. nuclear expert Clinton Bastin and other experts have said.
