John Baird cements his international stature as a non-entity
We’ve already discussed the fact that Prime Minister Harper considers himself too big of a big dog to bother attending the UN General Assembly. He sent Foreign Minister John Baird in his stead.
Wanting to know what kind of a splash he made in the international press I spent the afternoon scouring news websites for reports on his speech.
All the UK news sites, Telegraph, Guardian, BBC; nothing.
France 24; nothing.
Al Jazeera; nothing.
CNN and Fox news? Nothing.
Prime Minister Harper wasn’t the only who sent a minion to address the General Assembly. Syria’s President Assad was like Harper, too busy with more pressing matters.
He too sent his Foreign Minister in his stead.
That guy was absolutely EVERYWHERE!
