A tragic accident on Saturday has left a New York family missing 3-year-old Gabriel Estevez.
The Bronx family is grieving after the loss of little Gabriel who fell from the window of fourth-floor apartment.
Witnesses say they were horrified as they rushed to help the boy they said they heard screaming before he fell.
A man across the street said he heard Gabriel screaming as he tried to hold on to the window ledge. The neighbor said he jumped a fence to try to get the boy, but could not make it in time.
The boy’s mother was out and his father was working when he fell from the building superintendent’s apartment. The family lived on the 5th floor of the Morrisania Apartments, but Gabriel was being watched on the fourth floor.
Gabriel was taken to Lincoln Hospital around 4:15 pm by ambulance but could not be saved. His mother is said to still be grieving the loss of her son, a little boy described as a “sweet” and “happy child”.
Candles, cards and balloons were laid outside the building in remembrance of the young life lost.
