Ex-convict Edwin Reynolds Chávez was gunned down Tuesday night in Veracruz. Reynolds Chávez who was identified as an operating head of Los Zetas in Veracruz, was recently released from prison where he was being held for drug dealing.
Authorities were alerted of gunfire Tuesday evening. People also took to social networks like Facebook and Twitter that they had heard gunshots and the someone was executed.
Detectives on the scene found the body with several gunshot wounds in a pool of blood as well as five large-caliber shell casings.
No neighbors saw who shot the victim, they only heard people running in the streets and then the shots. Neighbors then took security measures and did not leave their homes until they reached the authorities.
The body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Department for legal autopsy, in hopes that relatives claim his remains and make a positive identification.
