Dear Friends, http://www.independent.ie/national-news/courts/high-court-challenge-to-childrens-referendum-yes-result-3300273.html I am writing this email because so many have expressed interest in the challenge to the Children's Rights referendum and I want to reach everyone with an update of the situation. The deadline was today. So we have been racing to sort out petitioners, legal team, lines of argument, supporting evidence and funding for the up front expenses like petition fee and expert opinions. Many of you have been in contact in relation to one or another of these Items and I am getting a real sense that this is a powerful grassroots effort. As of today, the court has been put on notice of the case and two excellent petitioners have been identified to the court. For several reasons, the court has given us a one week extension on lodging the referendum case. During this week, we ask anyone researching, gathering information, developing legal arguments, sending advice etc to keep going. Also keep spreading the word about how welcome donations are. We are told by the bank that, the dedicated referendum account will be activated by Wednesday. At that point we (a volunteer account will be helping) will be back to all of you that have so wonderfully pledged money with details on how to transfer funds to the account so we can pay the petition fee and start commissioning the experts. The legal team is enthusiastic and the support for the challenge is growing. I know many are praying, please continue. Thank you all so much. God bless Kathy
