Atheists dub Jesus a ‘myth’ on Times Square billboard – PPSIMMONS responds
Just as midtown Manhattan comes alive with Christmas cheer, festive window displays and Salvation Army bell ringers trying to channel holiday generosity to the needy, an atheist group has a message for the masses teeming into Times Square: Jesus is a myth.
With a picture of Santa Claus above another image of Jesus Christ, the sign, sponsored by New Jersey-based American Atheists, urges passersby to “Keep the Merry!” and “Dump the Myth!”
Attacks on Christianity from the group have become routine, and in the bustling heart of America’s busiest city, most folks don’t even waste a shrug on the sign. But some took notice, and did not approve.
“It’s a damn shame. It’s an insult,” said Anthony White, 41, a of Jersey City, N.J. said. “Why did they have to put that up?”

Aww the poor Christians, so badly oppressed in America, were they drone attacking them from the air? Carpet bombing their neighbourhoods? Funding mercenaries to rake over ‘rogue’ nations? Were they enforcing this message with violence and hate? No, so STFU you bleeding heart liberal (to the quoted person) if that’s the worst thing happening in their soft, bubble wrapped existence then they should be ashamed. We non religious but truly wonderfull folk have to suffer endless Christian billboards, some promising false miracles, we don’t complain, there wouldn’t be time. Besides, we have faith in a power far above any other, our own beating hearts.
Interesting how you equate American with Christian. Most Americans are baptized as such because of tradition. That is the extent of their Christianity. As for the atheists, they are the most ignorant of all humanity, more so than the satanists- at least they know the truth (and rebel against it).

No, the billboard is in America, a ‘christian’ country, and the tradition of forcing baptism onto a child before they have a choice or a mind to assimilate truth from fiction is, well, plainly wrong. America is the elitist army and military machine, who have not carpet bombed or invaded any other Christian countries since they decided to take part in WW2. Forgetting Vietnam which was opium related. Do you not see truth when it’s written or does everything need to be sprinkled in fairy dust and myth…? Facts are facts.

As for America not attacking Christians- there are no ‘Christian’ nations sitting on loads of oil. But there are Christians in Syria being massacred, as well as Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya, financed with our taxpaying dollars.
I’ll tell you a secret… First of all let me agree in part with your statement. There no ‘Christian’ nations full stop. If you define a nation by their actions.
The secret is this and it isnt so well kept, just denied because reality bites….
There is more oil and natural gas within alaska, the states, south America, the Antarctic, the British isles and the north sea, to sustain these countries for longer than the predicted current supply of oil from countries that have been forced to hand over the control of it (think sheiks playing on xbox and crashing ferraris for fun…..) these oil reserves are backed up by the might of the UN and NATO, mainly enforced militarily by the ‘rogue’ USA. The reason is greed. If your sword is bigger than my sword but the treasure is on my land, well do I really need to paint a further picture? The greedy bastards probably won’t even be alive to see the day when their own resources are tapped. But their children and grandchildren will and will most likely be in control of it. That is the entire point behind all of this. If you are evil and greedy you take what others have even when your own pockets are full. We are taught to live for the minute, I’m afraid some plans take generations to complete.
