Border Agents in Laredo Rescue 10 Undocumented From Human Smugglers

Zapata Border Patrol Agents Halt Human Smuggling Attempt

On Dec. 18, U. S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Zapata Station rescued 10 undocumented immigrants in a human smuggling attempt. Agents working roving patrol duties in San Ygnacio encountered a 2003 F-350 truck pulling an empty trailer. Border Patrol agents then conducted a vehicle stop on the truck in order to conduct an immigration inspection.

In the course of the inspection, agents noticed potential modifications to the underside of the trailer. Shortly thereafter, a total of 10 subjects were found concealed inside. The driver, identified as a 43-year-old Cuban man, was placed under arrest. The 10 subjects, all from Mexico, were processed accordingly.
