The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat, the peace of the grave

(Before It's News)

The NFL has been playing through the pain this week. Just off the Jovan Belcher tragedy that overhung last weekend, the League had the death of Jerry Brown and the arrest of Josh Brent to contend with.

That’s an awful run of shit luck.

But then I came across a statistic; former NFL players are six times more likely to die by suicide than the general population.

Seems a hell of a price to pay for a few years of glory. There’s more at work here than a run of shit luck.
