This much of the video is relatively non-controversial. However, there is one particular portion that may prompt derisive chuckles from self-defense advocates. The passage occurs at roughly 1:45 in the video, during which the narrator of the video suggests, “If you are caught out in the open, and cannot conceal yourself or take cover, you might consider trying to overpower the shooter with whatever means are available.”
Scissors? Are you for real, DHS?
Maybe “Scissors” is a code word, like, it maybe is new department slang for concealed-carry pistol.
That way the producers of the video saw the script and were like, “Ah, so then then defend themselves with ‘scissors’. Props!”
That makes perfect sense.
While we were at SHOT Show this year, we saw a lot of “scissors,” in many calibers. Although there were many new and interesting “scissors” like the ATI FX Lite, none was more anticipated than the Springfield XD(s) now chambered in 9mm.
Still, other “scissors” drew a crowd, like the Beretta Nano, which is now available with a wide variety of “handle” colors.
See? Works great.
