In accepting the best movie award last night at the Oscars, Ben Affleck thanked Canada.
“I thank you everyone in the movie, on the movie, worked on the movie, did anything with this movie gets thanked. I want to thank Canada,” said Affleck, without elaborating. “I want to thank our friends in Iran living in terrible circumstances right now.”
As the AP reported days ago, the ex-ambassador, who is depicted in the film as giving shelter to the Americans being sought out by the Iranians, wanted Affleck to thank Canada.
