There is a new public enemy number one. He is Chicago’s Mexican drug trafficker Joaquin El Chapo Guzman, the crime commissioner in Chicago revealed.
The label of “public enemy” was created for the mobster Al Capone, but the DEA says Guzman, leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, is more dangerous than the Chicago gangster was.
It is the first time the Chicago Crime Commission has used that category since the prohibition of alcohol in America.
The commission and the Chicago office of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) will make a formal announcement later today.
Jack Riley, chief of the DEA in Chicago, said Guzman is hiding in Mexico, but added that his criminal organization is now the main supplier of narcotics to Chicago.
