Pete welcomes to the show Steve Vaus. Steve Vaus is a Grammy award winning singer/songwriter who is going up against talk radio station WMAL in Washington D.C.
Steve approached WMAL and attempted to buy air time to promote his new song, “Come and Take it” and was promptly turned down. In an email sent to Vaus by the radio station he was told his song was too controversial for them to play on air. WMAL who broadcast shows like Hannity and Limbaugh, two of the Nations most controversial talk-shows in a neocon conservative kinda way. In the chorus, Vaus sings that anybody who wants to take guns away from Texans will “have to pry it from our cold, dead hands.” That’s about as controversial as it gets. and yes it’s pretty strong language but Steve is determined to be heard in Washington.
