Here is a group of pro active San Franciscans who go around town illegally grafting fruit bearing branches onto non-fruit bearing fruit trees.

The idea is that over time, these ornamental trees will bear fruit for the residents to simply pick and eat.

Guerrilla Grafters Tara Hui and Booka Alon are following up on their work, pruning a bit and enjoying the search for their trees’ first fruit.

“It’s really radical in the sense that it’s a collaboration of what nature can do. For us, we’re just the catalyst. We’re just doing what she does by cross pollination and cross propagation. But we’re experimenting in a way that feels like a delicious experiment.” says one passionate guerrilla grafter.
