History Channel highlights the story of Rob Furlong the Canadian sniper who previously held the record for longest confirmed sniper kill in combat, at 2,430 m (2,657 yd). Furlong’s record was surpassed in 2009 by British sniper Craig Harrison who shot two Taliban fighters consecutively at a range of 2,475 m (2,707 yd). And that record was recently surpassed in 2012 by two Australian Defense Force Delta Company soldiers who took out two Taliban at 2815 meters.
