Kyrgyz Finance Minister Olga Lavrova says the Islamic Republic of Iran is a major international player and the Iranian nation has safeguarded their liberty and independence efficiently, despite all the pressure and difficulties.

Speaking at a ceremony to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution at the Iranian Embassy in Bishkek on Saturday, Lavrova lauded Iran’s scientific, technological, and economic achievements and called for the expansion of Bishkek-Tehran relations.

The Iranian ambassador to Kyrgyzstan said the various peoples of the world, encouraged by Iranians, have now set self-belief, human dignity, resistance against aggressive powers, desire for justice, and exploitation of national capabilities as their ideals.

Ambassador Ali Najafi noted that Iran has attained numerous achievements in various spheres despite all the threats and the pressure and sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic and the assassination of its nuclear scientists.

Najafi also emphasized the need for the enhancement of Iran-Kyrgyzstan ties and said Iran wants to see Kyrgyzstan make progress.

He stated that Iran, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and Kyrgyzstan, which currently holds the presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the six-member Collective Security Treaty Organization, can work together to help maintain global and regional peace and stability.
