Moments after the news of an unidentified flying object streaked across the Russian sky and exploded, conspiracy theorists have been crafting explanations for what the ball of fire might have alternatively been. These theories run from the possible to the improbable, and are certainly the creations of some entirely crazy or highly informed individuals. The aliens refuse to comment at this time on the veracity of these claims.
Theory 1: Starting with something relatively tame, ‘anonymous’ Russian military intelligence personnel claim that this was, in fact, a meteor. However, they assert that this meteor was shot down using Russian military might and did not simply crash into Russia as previously asserted.

Theory 2: As is inevitable, the next theory claims that this was not a meteor at all but rather a US weapons test. Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the head of the Russian Liberal- Democratic Party, claims that John Kerry had been trying to get in touch with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for the two days prior to this so-called meteorite, in order to discuss the testing. Unfortunately, of course, Kerry was never able to get in touch with Lavrov.

Theory 3: Obviously it was a Transformer.
Theory 4: Getting into something a little more extreme, some are claiming that this was an alien crash landing on earth. No little green men have been spotted just yet, but it might be a good idea to brush up on your Klingon.
