Some 260 tattoo artists from around the world will be on hand Sunday for the 9th Buenos Aires Tattoo Show, a can’t-miss occasion for the thousands of skin-art fans.
The downtown Hotel Bauen in the Argentine capital, run by a cooperative of ex-employees, is transformed for the event into a tattoo temple which, according to the organization, expects a turnout of around 15,000 people.
All who want it can have their skin decorated by tattooists from around Latin America, as well as from Spain, Holland, Italy, Sweden and the United States.
The Buenos Aires Tattoo Show also offers the chance to attend seminars, concerts and such extreme spectacles as “body suspension,” suitable only for the most daring.
The height of the three-day festival will be on Sunday with the election of Miss Tattoo 2013, a title so sought-after among tattoo fans that, according to the organizers, they had to limit applications to 20 candidates.
