Police in West Tennessee say they have charged five Army soldiers with stealing nearly 800 ammunition magazines for M4 military rifles from a Tennessee National Guard armory.

The Lexington Police Department said in a news release Thursday that on Feb. 13 the commanding officer of the 251st Military Police Company reported the theft of 798 30-round-capacity magazines. Police said the magazines did not have ammunition in them at the time and said no ammunition was stolen.

Five soldiers have been charged with felony theft. Those soldiers were identified as Staff Sgt. Richard B. Walker, Spc. Jeremy E. Camper, Spc. Ronald G. Clark Jr., Spc. Ryan M. Bromley and Pfc. Jonathan M. Walker.

Police said they have recovered 793 of the stolen magazines. MOREHERE
