On March 13th, Dacajeweiah, Splitting-the-Sky, 61, left us forever when he passed away in his home in Adams Lake, British Columbia. Dac’s colonial name was John Boncore Hill, from Six Nations. “From Attica to Gustafsen Lake,” and thereafter, he was a warrior, a comrade, a brother, a father, a grandfather, a friend.
We deeply mourn his loss.
The family will release a biographical statement and details of memorial arrangements in due course. With deepest love to his wife, She-Keeps-the-Door, and children. We stand with Dac’s many many co-fighters and friends. He loved the People. The AIM song is dedicated to the continuance of the resistance after a warrior has fallen A.I.M. song
Splitting The Sky attempts citizens arrest of war criminal George W. Bush
Via Joshua Blakeney:
I am distressed to announce that my friend and comrade – Mohawk activist Splitting the Sky – has died. He participated in the Attica prison rebellion of 1971, John Lennon dedicated the famous song “Imagine” to him, he was in the American Indian Movement, he attempted a citizen’s arrest on George W. Bush, he was a dedicated 9/11 truther and much more. Some called him the “Che Guevara of North America”. He will be sorely missed. Condolences to his loved ones including Sandra Bruderer.

Canada Palestine Association is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Mohawk warrior and indigenous activist Splitting the Sky (John Boncore). The Palestinian people are indebted to Splitting the Sky for his enduring resistance and uncompromising anti-colonial positions, as well as his long time support of the Palestinian struggle.
He was an early member of the American Indian Movement and also attempted a citizen’s arrest of U.S. President George W. Bush in 2009 in Calgary for war crimes and crimes against humanity .

ANTHEM FOR DISSENT
By Ann Onimus, John Boncore/Splitting The Sky and Ron Bankley
United in fear we trade freedom, our prize for the Patriot Act as united we securitize
United in power over patriarchy, we misogynize
United in self-righteous arrogance, we imperialise
United in degenerate genital mutilation, we circumcise
United we consume and spend, and, united, we capitalize
United in greed we exploit, as united we multinationalize
United we commit economic suicide as, united, we globalise…cont…
