New York to sterilize female rats so they can’t reproduce

NEW YORK –
New York City’s Mass Transit Authority is getting creative in its effort to get rids of rats.

There are reportedly 30 to 40 million rats in New York City, with many of them roaming through the subway system.

The MTA is now taking part in a pilot program that looks to sterilize female rats so they can’t reproduce.

A company in Arizona is currently testing the bait in other countries.

At this point, it is unclear if it works.

The pilot program will start sometime this year.
