Oscars 2013 Illuminati Rumors: Conspiracy Theories Abound After Academy Awards
A number of Illuminati conspiracy theories emerged during the 2013 Academy Awards, and videos explaining some of the occult-related rumors went up on YouTube shortly thereafter.
In recent years, occult-watchers have increasingly spotted supposed references to a New World Order, a secret group called the Illuminati, Freemasonry, Satanism and other shadowy organizations at major entertainment events including the Grammys, the Super Bowl halftime show and more.
And Sunday's Oscars ceremony was yet another major source of fodder for conspiracy theorists, who found a wide range of supposed references to such groups over the course of the night.
The rumors actually began Saturday, a day before the Oscar ceremony, as YouTube user AlienContactee uploaded a video warning “the public that there may be some Illuminati symbolism at the oscars tomorrow and how the Oscars is a celebration of the global elite's brainwashing of the masses.”
