Well we have known for a while that this is where things were heading when liberals were defending illegal immigrants and wanting to not mention the “I-word’ while referencing illegals. I can’t understand why since illegal aliens are acting illegally. Now the Associated Press has jumped on board and officially come out and said it will no longer use the term “illegal immigrant.”

Back in July, a debate began to stir about the term “illegal immigrant.” Let me see if I can shed some light on the subject. There is no debate over the term, just like there is no debate over the term “marriage.” The issue is that people will simply not define people that break the law for whatever reason and so when a nation will not define lawbreakers, they will be overrun with them. But I digress.

Paul Colford quotes AP Senior Vice President and Executive Editor Kathleen Carroll at the AP blog:

“The Stylebook no longer sanctions the term ‘illegal immigrant’ or the use of ‘illegal’ to describe a person. Instead, it tells users that ‘illegal’ should describe only an action, such as living in or immigrating to a country illegally.”

This is like saying well you broke into a house illegally, but we shouldn’t refer to you as a felon.

She then went on to talk about the English language “evolving.” I’vedealt with that before and it was on the redefinition of the word “marriage.” This is simply how Socialists infiltrate. They get into the culture and begin to define words different for their agenda.

Her claim that they don’t want to use labels is also pointed to in an article on mental health in which they claim they will be stating that someone was “diagnosed with schizophrenia” instead of “schizophrenic.”

The idea the AP is trying to put out is they don’t want to label people, but rather behavior. I suggest then that they be consistent and stop making reference to “gays” and start referring to them as “people that engage in homosexual behavior” or perhaps more appropriately those who engage in sodomy. Right? I won’t hold my breath that they will do that because they have already marketed the term “gay” to the point where even those opposed to them use it constantly, but there is nothing gay about what these individuals engage in and they will not be relabeled because that is part of their agenda.

However, I’ll make this easy for everyone with simple examples. What do you call someone that lies? A liar, right? What about someone who steals? A thief? How about someone that commits adultery? Are they an adulterer? See where I’m going with this? It is to somehow remove the stigma of what the person is engaging in to push an agenda and in this case it is to push the administration’s efforts for more amnesty, more patting the heads of those engaged in illegal activity and rewarding them simply because the administration will not enforce immigration laws.

Carroll only wants the term illegal used when quoting directly. She says, “use illegal only to refer to an action, not a person: illegal immigration, but not illegal immigrant,” but “do not use the terms illegal alien, an illegal, illegals or undocumented.”

Michelle Malkin breaks down exactly what is going on here. She writes, “As I told Daily Caller reporter Matthew Boyle at the time, the idea that ‘undocumented workers’ and ‘undocumented immigrants’ are more objective labels than ‘illegal immigrants’ is complete and utter nonsense. The euphemisms that mainstream ‘journalists’ favor are far more politically loaded than the ones they’re trying to replace.”

“It’s a farce to call someone an ‘undocumented immigrant’ whose pockets are overflowing with fake, fraudulent documents,” she continued, ” and that is usually the case with many of the suspected illegal immigrants featured in AP stories. (Moreover, it is inaccurate to call someone whose employment history, criminal record and welfare status are unknown an undocumented ‘worker.’)”

She rightly declared that this move on the part of AP should be filed in the “overflowing cabinet labeled: No Wonder the Mainstream Media Is Dying.”

While there is no doubt the immigration is a very serious issue and the AP’s socialist move is to push an agenda filled with propaganda, Jay Leno seemed to find a way to bring some truth to the issue by suggesting that the AP will be using “undocumented Democrat” from now on.
