OVERNIGHT there was conjecture over whether North Korea actually has a nuclear missile and if the BBC should play Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead.
In the UK there was a lot of tooing and froing by the BBC about whether it would play Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead after it raced to the top of the British iTunes chart following the death of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The end result? A shortened version of the song will be played to mark its inclusion on the chart.
US officials spent a lot of time backtracking over whether or not North Korea has a nuclear missile that they could deploy. The White House came out to say it has no information to think that that is the case despite contradictory comments from the military.
In Russia, President Vladimir Putin announced $49 billion would be spent to keep his country on top of the space race, while in the race for equality, the French Senate voted to legalise gay marriage meaning it is likely to become law by the middle of the year.
