Cat Zingano’s UFC debut was a big time win for her via a TKO in the third round of fighting against Meisha Tate. No worries that her being a mom was going to be an issue.
Zingano, who is the wife of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu belt Mauricicio Zingano, became a pro MMA fighter in 2008 and has proceeded to win all of her seven matches, three from a knockout.
In her debut fight for UFC she started out weak but in the third round the advantage came to her over Tate. Zingano was able to place several knee hits and finished Tate with an elbow hit.
Zingano now faces the league’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Rousey also holds the Olympic bronze for judo.
The fight was the second UFC women’s fight, the first being UFC 157 fight Rousey and Liz Carmouche.
