(Before It's News)

Hey everyone, this is Rob from Cop Block. Some of you may know me as I’m the one that answers all your emails and questions, although most of my work is done behind-the-scenes, such as approving comments, removing spam, helping with the growth of the site and new ideas on how to expand, among others. Here’s a quick rundown of my story.

Over the last month or so I have been out of work on disability for an unknown illness. I have been to multiple doctors and emergency rooms but have yet to find a definitive answer as to exactly what is wrong. They are considering a few conditions, including  Lupus, some possible strain of hepatitis  (as I do travel to many countries for work)  that is attacking my liver, and a chronic fatigue syndrome, with an unknown cause.

This past Friday I was driving my car home from the airport after dropping a friend off when I started to have an attack, meaning I began to have very blurry vision that was quickly progressing into a blackout. I pulled of the side of the road as quickly and safely as possible but clipped the mirror of another car in the process of doing so. I had just been in the ER 2 days prior for the same symptoms. I can’t recall the amount of time that passed, but  I remember an officer knocking on my window and asking for my license. I was than asked to step out of the vehicle – which after having a seizure is difficult in itself.

I politely refused a field sobriety test at which time I was handcuffed and taken to their DUI processing center. I had my dog in the car and they sent her to the pound. I remember looking through the cell window while still handcuffed and watched the officer hook my cellphone up to a scanner to retrieve its contents. Luckily, my cell is clean so he just has a bunch of pictures of my dog swimming at the beach.

I was then again asked to perform a field sobriety test on video which I also politely declined due to to my health and having a hard time holding consciousness.  About an hour later, I was booked into the county jail for 22 hours. I was able to post bond and from thereon encountered no major obstacles. My biggest complaint with this whole situation is that I should have been taken to the ER. I wasn’t allowed to take my medication, I was having a medical emergency, and I had even been at the ER 2 days previously and multiple specialists over the last month. A blood sugar test and other tests could have easily been performed to establish that this whole incident was neither DUI nor drug related.

After my release, I was finally able to locate the pound to which they had taken my dog, and paid $45 for the  release. My car is being held with a $350 release.  I had to pay$100 to my bond agent for the $500 bail, and $6,000 to retain a lawyer. I now have to go back to the doctor for more medical tests that I cannot afford to find out what is causing this.

I  wanted to share my experience with you. I am sure others have gone through similar experiences and we would love to hear your stories as well.

I did set up a Paypal donation that links to my account that if you had some extra coin can help with my legal and medical fees, and also a bitcoin address if that is more convenient.   Hopefully one day I will be able to return the favor.

I thank you all for your questions and emails sent in and hope my responses have been able to help you each with your unique situations. If  you have a question please feel free to contact me via the Copblocks facebook email or at Rob (at) Copblock.org

Thanks again for the support and I will update this page as the legal process continues, with tips and tricks that my attorney will go through over the next several months to prove this in fact was a medical issue and not one that warranted an arrest .

Best Regards And Thank You for you Support
