Four Arrested in Chile for Burning 3-Day-Old Baby Alive
A child is dead and four people are in jail after a gruesome ritual in Chile.
Police in Colliguay, Chile were shocked to learn a three-day-old baby girl had been sacrificed, with approval from the mother, in a ritual this past November.
According to reports, the child, naked and with tape over her mouth, was placed on a board while the group called on spirits. She was then tossed into the bonfire alive, unable to scream because of the tape.
The 12-member sect, which included the child’s 25-year-old mother Natalia Guerra, was formed in 2005 by Ramon Gustavo CastilloGaete, now 36.
Perhaps more frightening in the fact that every member of the sect were educated professionals, each with a college degree.
Police say they are still looking for Gaete, who was last spotted in Peru buying hallucinogenic plants. He is said to believe he his a god. Disturbingly, he is also said to have been the father of the baby girl.
As for why the sect sacrificed the baby, police say the Gaete believed and convinced the others the end of the world was upon them, and that the baby was the antichrist.
