Gosnell murder trial: Where’s the media?
Infanticide trial ignored: ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC have given zero coverage
Kirsten Powers, a self identified liberal, rightly says, “This clearly should be national news. Liberals want government regulation of every single thing — air, water, animals, (inaudible), banks, you name it” — and, she admits, “I put myself in that category. But they have this one little area where they say ‘no government regulation.’ It doesn’t make any sense, and I think we need to examine that.”
Power’s USA Today column, “We’ve forgotten what belongs on Page One,” deserves your attention.
The gruesome details in Conor Friedersdorf’s Atlantic article, “Why Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s Trial Should Be a Major News Story,” do not make for easy reading, but they will educate regarding the horrors of the abortion industry. Gosnell, 72, regularly and illegally delivered live, viable third-trimester babies and murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors, referring to this practice as “ensuring fetal demise.”
He is charged with seven counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of babies who were born alive and murdered, as well as a 41-year-old mother who died after a botched abortion in his clinic.
In 2011, Seeing Red AZ marked the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Wade with this post about abortionist Kermit Gosnell, including his joking about one of the babies he brutally murdered being “so large he could walk me to the bus stop.”
