Use a plastic container
Storing foods properly inside your refrigerator can help prevent juices from seeping out and contaminating other foods.
The FoodSafety.gov website offers this food-storage advice:
– Store raw meat, seafood and poultry inside a plastic or glass container, or a plastic bag.
– Freeze raw meat, seafood or poultry that you won’t be using in the next couple of days.
– Store eggs in their original cartons.
– Place eggs inside the main part of the refrigerator, rather than inside the door.
