The North Korean military says it has ratified a "merciless" attack against the United States, potentially involving a "cutting-edge" nuclear strike.

"The moment of explosion is approaching fast," the army said in a statement on state news agency KCNA.

War could break out "today or tomorrow," the statement said, quoting a spokesman for the General Staff of the Korean People's Army.

"The merciless operation of (our) revolutionary armed forces in this regard has been finally examined and ratified.

"The US had better ponder over the prevailing grave situation."

The North's Committee for Peaceful Reunification of Korea was later quoted by KCNA as threatening to withdraw its 53,000 workers from the joint industrial zone it shares with the South.

Pyongyang informed Seoul on Wednesday that it was stopping the daily movement of South Koreans to the Kaesong complex, the last real surviving point of contact between the two countries.

And the committee said: "If the South Korean puppets and conservative news media keep badmouthing (us), we will order all our workers to pull out from Kaesong."

North Korea's latest pronouncements came as Washington scrambled to reinforce its Pacific defences, preparing to move an advanced missile defence system to the island of Guam.

  • buuuuuut……it wont.

  • Awesome. Where the F*CK is Obama??? Where’s the leadership? Swiftboat Kerry is in charge??? I’m less terrified of the North koreans than I am of the complete and utter evil/ineptitude of our own government. Ridiculous.

  • As it is seen mad man kim jong and its followers have nothing to loose just theyr lives, with the sanctions oposend on them it might be now any moment that they will do something really stupid and detonate or spark the war.If i were an mad man with nuclear capability and no resources i would push that button right away, but i am not an mad man choose to live in harmony with my brothers and sisters on this globe instead of nuking it.

  • The US did ponder this very seriously and replied, scornfully…

“We’ve seen today’s statement by North Korea, again making unhelpful and unconstructive threats,” said National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden. “It is yet another offering in a long line of provocative statements that only serve to further isolate North Korea from the rest of the international community and undermine its goal of economic development.” RT

NK might do this or they may do that buuuuuut…… they haven’t so far and we’ve heard it all before, many times.

  • Why the F*** is America hesitant to strike North Korea. It has gone to total war for lot less like Iraq, Libya and Syria? Why the wait uncle sam? Whats happening dear? Finally found your match?

    * Where are your drones, not been helpful with Koreans.

    * What about Navy Seals and Marines doin secret operations inside Korea.

    * What about More UN sanctions if you have left any.

    * Why is your 50,000 Nuclear bombs silent now, where is your 1 trillion defense budget..You know you gonna get it back…don’t you…..You can fool people but not yourself…you know North Koreans have Hydrogen Bomb don’t you and they could strike in US with KN-08 ICBMs.

You got nothing on North Koreans…

  • Jay

This is a well planned move that originated in China.Stop looking at N.K.and focus in on who is going to benefit. The U.S. will come out looking weak and beaten. The U.S. knows it cannot use its nuclear weapons on the Koreans for fear of igniting a full fledged war involving China and a host of others. The U.S.will not fight a land war in Asia.We are strictly set up in a defensive mode that does not include a Vietnam type war action. The U.S. cannot sustain a long period of engagement,we are strung out all over the world. Our finances are stretched to the breaking point. And the country is divided over everything. If N.K. pushes hard and takes out a good portion of the south then the U.S. and S.D. will have to negotiate a peace with a very weak hand.Taiwan will see this and realize she will have to make a deal with China at some point, maybe a Hong Kong like arrangement.Game over.

  • You get upset when one american is killed, you change the constitution when 20 children are supposedly killed (not mentioning all the children that are beaten, raped, missing, sodomised in your country every day, but nothing much has been done about it till Sandy Hook), imagine how you are going to feel when you are NUKED. Wake up America, Jay is right. you have been checkmated. Like I said in my post, and then ridiculed by some moron on this site, I can only hope and pray that the innocents will be somehow protected from this evil. You know, the whole world suffers because of American foreign policy. Time to get off your high horse or you are going to go down like a pack of cards. There is no longer any substance in America. You have made yourself rotten to the core with your selfish, wicked and perverse choices. No one is really going to care that much about you, just about their money they will lose – that is the truth.

  • The nuke fallout would kill hundreds of millions in the region…….at least they are ready for a counter, until then wait till the first shot and not take the blame for starting the war……seems you want to see these people die for nothing.
