Since the late 199os to present, the number of illegal GMO crops being grown on US soil has jumped from 1.5 million acres to over 60 million acres. If you compare that to India, Iran or Columbia, for instance, we grow up to 500% more GMO crops than other countries. Only Asia comes close to producing as much ‘poison food’ as the US.
Some of the largest GMO crops include soybeans and corn, with over 50% of the soy being grown as a genetically altered crop. Thus far, genetically modified wheat has not been introduced, although the large GMO companies like Monsanto, Dupont, Bayer, Dow Chemical, and Syngenta, among others, would love to add this crop to the list of staple foods that we consume unwittingly. Sugar Beets and cotton are also big GMO crops. Monsanto has spent more than 4.5 million dollars in anti-labeling campaigns for GMO crops. That’s a lot of cash to spend lobbying for labeling.
GMO Creates a Toxic World and a Toxic Body
GMO foods cause a toxic environment in the body, so that we become sick, and eventually, even our DNA becomes mutated. Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, often called the Father of the Green Revolution in India (a country with a relatively low GMO crop acreage compared to the US) has recently stated that by inserting foreign genes into our food chain, namely those derived from bacterial, viral and animal genes, brings about a crop which can cause harm to the long term development of humans.
Without proper release of toxins that are eaten through GMO crops, we can develop immune system problems, infertility challenges, and breaking news even suggest that a viral gene used in GMO foods (its called the Cauliflower Mosaic Virus or CAMV promoter) may even promote a certain virus strain which can cause an utter catastrophe for our physical health. There are 54 crops which currently contain this virus-promoting gene, and soy and corn are on the top of the list.
