Patricia Maisch, a hero of the Tucson shooting rampage was on hand yesterday when the Senate failed to pass a proposal that would expand background checks, among other gun-related proposals. Reacting to those who voted against the measure, she shouted “Shame on you!” before being reprimanded by president of the Senate, Vice President Joe Biden.
Maisch attended the event hosted by then Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) in 2011 where Jared Loughner opened fire with a Glock 19, killing six and wounding 13. As Loughner was tackled by bystanders, Maisch was able to grab his spare magazine, preventing further bloodshed.
