Updated: New photo shows giant mushroom cloud rising hundreds of feet in the air

Mushroom Cloud West Texas Fertilizer Plant

A massive explosion at a West, Texas fertilizer plant has reportedly killed as many as 70 people and injured more than a hundred others.

After the events at the Boston Marathon just two days ago, and with suspects still not identified, Panicked residents in the area thought that the explosion may be another attack. Their worst fears were seemingly confirmed, as a giant mushroom cloud rose hundreds of feet in the air, leading some to speculate that a nuclear attack was underway.

Watch the following video as a witness recorded the fire, which investigators believe started in an anhydrous ammonia tank and quickly engulfed the entire building.

Moments later, an explosion rocked the area.

Residents as far as Fort Hood, Texas, about 80 miles away, reported hearing the blast.

Unbelievable video shows the magnitude of the blast.

The explosion – which the US geological survey said had a 2.1 magnitude – was so powerful that a nearby block of flats was destroyed and 130 residents of a local nursing home were injured.

As many as 75 homes were damaged, as well as a local school.

  • If you slow the video right down you will see there is an impact blast followed by a explosion. This does not look like it’s just bad luck at the plant.

    • Of course not, this is before it’s news. If you look at the photos really closely you will find some Navy Seals hired by craft international with DHS bullets snuck in and blew up the plant. It’s part of the vast shadow government control in keeping your lawn full of weeds and less green than it could be.

  • Was this just a random event or part of the “pole shift”? Regardless April has been the worst month for bombings. Thoughts and prayers.

  • Did you hear? Obama just blamed George Bush for this

  • Popping bubbles as usual…but the mushroom shaped plume is not unusual for any type of explosion. I’ve actually made one [unintentionally] burning underbrush piles on my property before. It depends on atmospheric conditions and the quickness of the detonation. Gas and other highly flammable chemicals will usually do it and this was a fertilizer factory. The same sorts of things used to blow up the Oklahoma courthouse. Not a solid indication of nuclear weapons by any means. Sorry.
