URGENCY MARKS A CALL FOR NATIONAL DAY
OF PRAYER & FASTING
9/11/13 PLAN STRIKES A CHORD ACROSS AMERICA
(Washington, DC) –April 18, 2013 –The idea began as a column suggestion floated less than a week ago by Joseph Farah, founder and CEO of WND.com, the world’s leading independent internet news source.
Today “9/11/13: A National Day of Prayer and Fasting” has become a movement that’s literally sweeping the nation. No one is more surprised than Farah himself, who just a few days after the publication of the commentary he published calling for September 11, 2013 to be “A National Day of Prayer And Fasting” to beseech God’s help in what he calls, “saving America from itself,” now finds himself inundated with support and media attention.
“Was I ever shocked,” he notes. “By 8:00 AM Friday my email inbox was running over with enthusiastic support for the idea with more than 1,000 people letting me know they would be participating and enlisting friends, family members, church groups, Bible studies and neighbors. They were marking the date on their calendars. The only reservation I heard was that the date was nearly five months away. They wanted to do something sooner.”
Because of the overall response by email, Farah is asking supporters of the idea to register their intent to participate to help spread the plan virally. Register online now at: www.911dayofprayer.com
As his original column pointed out: “When America’s founders faced challenges they often had the wisdom and insight to call for a national day of prayer and fasting. America is facing challenges today that, in many ways, rival anything we’ve seen since the start of World War II.”
Joseph Farah has proven to be one of the most powerful voices for the Christian worldview in today’s mainstream media. He writes one of the only daily columns in journalism for WND.com. His columns, distributed by Creator’s Syndicate, are eagerly sought out by millions of people each month. Prior to founding WND.com (formerly WorldNetDaily), Joseph Farah established significant journalist career influence in the worlds of print, newspapers and radio as well as becoming a best selling author.
He feels the “call to America” involved in this latest movement is a true mandate.
“I’m hearing now not only from regular American’s from coast-to-coast, but also from members of Congress, from top Christian leaders, even from the media,” Farah notes.
His reasons for the “call to America” are ones torn from today’s headlines:
“People are already beginning to pray for repentance and revival,” Farah notes. “They’re recognizing the government is hopelessly broken and the culture is breaking down. Man’s conventional answers are not going to work.”
Farah personally become convinced of this more than a year ago when be began producing what became the most successful faith movie of 2012-2013 –”The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment.” Based on Jonathan Cahn’s record breaking best-selling book, “The Harbinger,” the movie had a profound impact on Farah.
“The people of America are responding predictably to today’s culture by doing what’s right in their own eyes—as the people of Israel did before their judgment,” he writes.
“No longer does Washington see itself as a servant to the people, but rather as their master. How can we save America? What would our founders do if faced with such predicaments? Those of us who understand the challenges we face for the very survival of America as we have known it as one nation under God must start planning now to do something radical.”
That something is the 2013 nationwide day of prayer, fasting, and humility.
Can a day of fasting and prayer for America really make a difference?
Joseph Farah thinks so –and the wave of those that agree is rapidly building.
