(Before It's News)

Lebanese security forces inspect the site of the rocket attacks in southern Beirut, May 26, 2013.

The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has condemned the recent rocket attacks on the capital, Beirut, carried out by ˜coward™ perpetrators.

Two rockets hit the southern district of Zahyieh in Beirut on May 26, injuring several people.

Head of Hezbollah Executive Council Seyyed Hashem Safieddine said on Tuesday that the œtargeting and the manner of targeting prove one thing that the perpetrator is a coward.”

Safieddine called on the Lebanese government to œuncover those standing behind this attack and those funding, supporting and training the perpetuators, and punish them.”

The rockets hit Beirut only hours after Hezbollah Secretary-General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah said that the resistance movement™s combatants were fighting alongside Syrian troops against al-Qaeda-linked militants in Syria.

The Syrian army has recently conducted successful operations against militants in the strategic town of Qusayr near the Lebanese border.

Nasrallah promised victory against the militants and said, œWe will continue along the road… bear the responsibilities and the sacrifices. This battle is ours… and I promise you victory.”

Sheikh Nabil Qawouq, the deputy head of Hezbollah Executive Council, also condemned the Beirut attacks.

œIf they wanted to intimidate us, they have failed to do so and if they wanted to terrorize us, they have failed to do so, and if they wanted to pressure us to change our stances, they have failed as well. The resistance will not be shaken and will not be blackmailed,” Qawouq said.
