The Truth Behind The News

Occupy Corporatism
May 14, 2013
President Obama called the focus of Republicans attention on how he handled Benghazi “a sideshow” and accusations of his administration trying to cover up the events “defies logic”.
Obama turned his attention to promising to get to the bottom of the scandal implicating the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) with targeting Tea Party groups; using keywords such as “we the people”, “take back the country” and “patriots”.
Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld stated in a book he recently published that both the IRS and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have been used as bull-dogs to single out “anti-government organizations”.
Rumsfeld says corporate leaders hold their tongue rather than speak out against an administration and incur their rath. He claims that if corporate leaders “could expose themselves and their companies to government retaliation–from the IRS, the SEC, congressional committees, or the many other agencies of the federal government that regulate and oversee their operations.”
Dan Becker, lawyer representing nearly 12 conservative groups who were spot-lighted by the IRS (including Combat Veterans Training Group and TheTeaParty.net.) said : “We are looking at it pretty seriously. Given the sheer scope of maleficence at the IRS, there may be a legal recourse.”
House Representative Michele Bachmann said that the Obama administration has turned the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) into the “most feared government agency.”
Bachmann alluded to the idea that Obamacare may also retaliate against “conservative voices opposed to President Obama with delays or denials of medical care.”
Finally, Bachmann said that the story about the IRS targeting Tea Party and conservative groups was released to the press to distract from Benghazi. “There’s no doubt this was not a coincidence that they dumped this story today, a Friday dump day. This is when they put their negative stories out.”
Bachmann asserts that this story is meant “to provoke conservatives and draw their anger and attention. I was in that Benghazi hearing. I think the Obama administration is desperate to spin Benghazi, and they can’t. I think they saved this story up for a day like today so that conservatives would focus on this admission. Conservatives can handle two shocking stories at the same time. Both are equally unconstitutional and call into question the very president.”
Senator Jim Inhofe commented that regarding the Benghazi scandal, the “people may be starting to use the I-word before too long.”
Inhofe was referring to the word impeachment.
He explained this “orchestrated cover-up” was facilitated by UN Ambassador Susan Rice and her initial comments and the extremists at the “compound” in Libya.
Inhofe said: “They knew that it was a cover-up at that time, the time that it happened. To send Susan Rice out to lie to the American people is one thing that’s going to go down in history, that’s never going to be forgotten.”
House Representative Mike Rogers recently commented that he thinks “we’re going to see more whistle blowers. I certainly know my committee has been contacted. We have had people come forward because of the (hearing) and say we would also like to talk. I think other committees as well.”
House Representative Darrell Issa, chair of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee (HOGRC) requested that Thomas Pickering, former diplomat and retired Admiral Mike Mullen, former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff attend a private meeting with the HOGRC to discuss points regarding Benghazi.
Pickering told mainstream media: “We knew where the responsibility rested. They’ve tried to point a finger at people more senior than where we found the decisions were made.”
The report co-authored by Pickering and submitted last December regarding Benghazi outlined that there were “systematic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels” of the State Department meant that security was “inadequate for Benghazi and grossly inadequate to deal with the attack that took place.”
