Is it just a software glitch? Or, is Facebook under attack? A software glitch exposed as many as 6 million Facebook users to identity theft. Users’ phone nubers and email were allegedly exposed. Computer analysts believe it was a hack, not a glitch.
The company issued an apology notifying users that a bug allowed some of a person’s contact information (email or phone number) to be accessed by people who either had some contact information about that person or some connection
to them. The company said some users who attempted to download contact information for their friends obtained additional information to which they were not supposed to have access. According to the company’s release, the leaks began in 2012 and were fixed within 24 hours of the security team’s discovery last week.MOREHERE
