The U.S. has finally charged former Booz Allen employee Edward Snowden with espionage for leaking U.S. intelligence documents and secrets.

But that doesn’t mean the U.S. is close to apprehending him.

Snowden remains a free man in Hong Kong, Lana Lam of the South China Morning Post is reporting.

And, while he hangs out in a “safe place,” Snowden is now sharing more U.S. intelligence secrets with the Chinese (and world) through the South China Morning Post.

According to the SCMP, Snowden has documents showing how the U.S. has systematically targeted and hackedcomputers in Hong Kong and mainland China.

These attacks included:

  • “Extensive hacking of major telecommunication companies in China to access text messages”
  • “Sustained attacks on network backbones at Tsinghua University, China’s premier seat of learning.”
  • “Hacking of computers at the Hong Kong headquarters of Pacnet, which owns one of the most extensive fibre optic submarine cable networks in the region”

  • Great reporting! You managed to copy the propaganda spouting from government sources perfectly.

  • This is setup. Right now the Chinese are trying to make the US look bad and get people to focus on personal privacy. The Chinese themselves have just as large a spy program in the US, in fact there’s about a 50% chance the computer you are using to read this is infected with malware of theirs that’s used to spy on you and take over your computer to attack others.

      Chris,
You’re correct, the Chinese will milk this for all it’s worth.
You’re also correct about the 50% chance of the computers we are using, are infected with Chinese malware.
On the other hand, the other 50% of computers are most likely infected with U.S. malware, direct from the U.S. Gov.
Choose your battles wisely, and learn how to protect yourself from this.
      “Knowledge is Power”.
      Just saying.

  • Did he really or is the evidence being fabricated to gain the peoples support for a government agenda?
